The mission of Gilead Counseling and Consulting, LLC is to provide holistic, inclusive, psychotherapy care to individuals, couples, and families from a depth-oriented, systemic frame, that integrates all aspects of a client’s life and identity in their care.

Staff

Jonathan Vanderbeck, MDiv, DSW, LICSW

The Rev. Dr. Jonathan Vanderbeck (he/him) is the founder of Gilead Counseling and Consulting, LLC. Dr. Vanderbeck is a licensed clinical social worker in Massachusetts, Michigan, and New York. He completed his Doctor of Social Work degree from the University of Kentucky specializing in Bowen Family Systems Theory when working with reactive religious systems and his Master of Divinity degree from Western Theological Seminary in Holland, MI. He is an ordained minister in the PC(USA).

Dr. Vanderbeck trained at the Samaritan Counseling Center of the Capital Region where he developed his skills in depth-oriented, family systems therapy. He has completed additional training at the Vermont Center for Family Studies and the LGBTQ Institute for Family Therapy (LIFT) in New York City. In his clinical practice, he works with individuals and families from a systemic frame, focusing on how all elements of a client’s life impact themselves and their relationships. He has extensive skills working with clergy, chaplains, and mental health professionals experiencing burnout and fatigue, as well as helping individuals and families navigate everyday challenges of anxiety, stress, depression, and relational breakdowns.
